How Our Systems Operate
How Our Retractable Systems Operate
To best suit your needs, we offer a choice of four systems which can be used on our retractable seating systems;
- Manual
- Manual Assist
- Semi-Automatic
- Fully-Automatic
Manual
When the system has been fully extended and once the required ancillary parts have been installed such as aisle steps and aisles/gangways are clear, the chairs may then be lifted into position.
The chairs are arranged on a beam in banks of 2 and 3 or more dependant on chair model and system.
To lift the seating stand in the middle of the bank, facing the rear of the system, and lift the chairs by the back closest to the centre of each bank. When the chairs are fully lifted, ensure the locking mechanism has engaged.
To lower the seating, the locking mechanism must first be disengaged. To unlock each bank of chairs, locate the unlocking bar and hook the unlocking handle under it. Lightly push the back of the chairs and push the handle down. This should lift the unlocking bar and free the chairs. Rotate the chairs forward and gently lower them onto the deck. Ensure the decks are clean and free of debris.
Manual Assist
Chairs in each row are arranged on a beam in banks of 2 and 3 or more dependent on chair model and system and have gas dampers to assist with manual lifting and lowering.
Semi-Automatic
Chairs in each row are linked together enabling up to 8 chairs per row (dependant on chair model) to be lifted together. All rows, with the exception of the first/nose mounted and top/rear tier chairs lower automatically when the system closes. The first and top/rear tier chairs are manually unlocked at the end of the row and manually lowered.
Fully-Automatic
All chairs with the exception of the first row/nose mounted chairs and top/rear tier chairs fold down automatically when the system closes and raise automatically when the system fully opens. Chairs on the first and top/rear tier operate as the first and last row of semi-auto.
