We were founded in 1977 by John Alfred Penistone who by chance became the owner of a seating company and took a leap from his electrical and mechanical engineering background to manufacturing chairs. We are now second generation owned and run and although we outgrew our original premises a long time ago, we are still based in Rotherham. Whilst we manufacture a little differently now, we still commit to the same core values, investing in our workforce, producing everything in house, sourcing materials locally and placing importance on quality and customer satisfaction.
We are the only UK seating manufacturer to not only source up to 70% of our raw materials locally, but also manufacture everything at our head office in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. Keeping everything under one roof gives us complete control, from initial concept and design to installation and project handover.
